Biography

This season marks 10 years since Thomas first played for the Kiwis. At just 18 years 118 days he came off the bench when the Kiwis beat the Kangaroos 30-16 at North Harbour Stadium in 2003.

His NRL career started that same year at the Vodafone Warriors. But with Stacey Jones blocking the way at half-back, Thomas headed to the UK where he played for the London Broncos (2005-2006) and then the Wigan Warriors (2007-2012). Among his highlights there were being named man of the match when Wigan won the 2010 Super League Grand Final and scoring a try in their 2011 Challenge Cup final win.

In 2013, Thomas returned to Auckland and the Vodafone Warriors. Despite playing most of his career in the UK, he has been a regular for the Kiwis and he started at hooker in both the 2008 World Cup and the 2010 Four Nations finals wins.

Thomas is the son of the former Kiwi centre James Leuluai.
