Italy have named a squad containing a host of stars from the NRL and Super League as they prepare for their first ever appearance at a Rugby League World Cup.
The squad includes 12 players from Australia’s NRL including Terry Campese, nephew of former Australian Rugby Union legend David, and former Italian rugby union international Craig Gower.
There are three players from Super League, as Anthony Laffranchi from St Helens, Vic Mauro of Salford Red Devils and James Saltonstall of Warrington Wolves link up with the Azzurri.
The squad has already commenced training ahead of their opening game at Rugby League World Cup 2013 against Wales at the Millennium Stadium on October 26, a match which forms part of a fantastic double header at the RLWC2013 Opening Ceremony, and follows England's clash with Australia.
Italy also face Scotland at Derwent Park in Workington on November 3, and Tonga at The Shay in Halifax on November 10.
