All-star entertainers to make The Big Hit even bigger

A mouth-watering double header of matches awaits as The Big Hit crashes into Wembley Stadium on Saturday, and the world-class action when the hooter sounds will be matched with a fantastic programme of pre-match entertainment.

Singing live will be the Games Maker Choir, a group containing over 120 Games Makers who volunteered at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The choir is an embodiment of the spirit of the Games Makers and the 2012 Games, but with the Olympics now under their belts, the choir is relishing the opportunity to be a part of the global sporting event of 2013. Performiong as part of the choir will be singer-songwriter Alistair Griffin, who is well known for his sporting anthems.

There will also be a vocal performance from former X-Factor contestant and current star of stage and screen Carolynne Poole, while the anthems of the four competing nations will be sung by three rising showbiz stars.

Daniel Koek, who is current playing the lead role of Jean Valjean in the West End production of Les Miserables, will perform the national anthems of New Zealand and England, while Britain’s Got Talent stars ‘Richard and Adam’ will sing Australia and Fiji’s

Richard and Adam have already enjoyed a number one album, and are thrilled to be taking centre stage at one of Rugby League World Cup 2013’s marquee events.

Meanwhile, RLWC2013’s million-pound dance programme will be celebrated with another spellbinding performance showcasing both elite and community performances, as originally seen in the Opening Ceremony.

There will also be another opportunity to try the official RLWC2013 viral dance, which has made waves – quite literally – throughout the tournament, while Pro-Excel will perform a spectacular mass-movement dance for the Wembley crowd.

RLWC2013 Marketing Manager Mark Foster said:

“We set very high standards with our Opening Ceremony at the Millennium Stadium on October 26, and have sought to bring supporters a broad and exciting day of entertainment at every RLWC2013 event.

“With the four best nations in the world competing, and more than 65,000 tickets already gone, a fantastic afternoon of entertainment at Wembley Stadium on Saturday is already guaranteed.

“And the addition of these fantastic performing artists will ensure it is a spectacular event for the whole family.”

The pre-match entertainment will build to a crescendo with a stirring rendition of a unique RLWC2013 haka by the New Zealand team, ahead of their showdown with England, and the action culminates with the second Semi-Final match between Australia and Fiji.
