A delegation from the Parliamentary Rugby League Group visited the Rugby League World Cup 2013 Headquarters at MediaCityUK in Salford, today.
Group Officers Greg Mulholland MP, David Mowat MP and Lord Doug Hoyle along with Group Secretariat Mark Ramsdale visited the offices to meet RLWC2013 and RFL executives and see the new facilities.
Group Chairman, Leeds North West MP Greg Mulholland said "It was a pleasure to see the new offices in MediaCityUK. With RLWC2013 happening next year, the location next to a key media hub in the UK is ideal. It is of huge benefit to Rugby League to have journalists from the BBC see how important the sport is to the UK and experience the passion for the game from the people in the area."
Martin Johnston, RLWC2013 Communications Manager welcomed the delegation and said "The Parliamentary Rugby League Group contains some of our most passionate supporters. We were really pleased that they could join us and meet those in the team who are making it happen. Their support so far has been crucial and we look forward to working with them over the coming months as we prepare for the tournament."
The Group comprises over 60 Members from both Houses of Parliament and all main parties. Parliamentary Rugby works to support the sport of Rugby League and ensure the sport is represented throughout Westminster and Whitehall.
