Thirsty Planet: Official Supplier of Rugby League World Cup 2013
Rugby League World Cup 2013 is excited to announce a very special partnership with one of the most green-minded and ethically-responsible suppliers of bottled water.
Thirsty Planet will become the Official Water Supplier to RLWC2013 and supply all teams with their product throughout the tournament.
As part of the agreement, RLWC2013 will make a £1,000 donation to ‘Pump Aid’, a UK registered charity which works alongside African communities to provide sustainable clean water and sanitation solutions.
Pump Aid employs simple, appropriate technology, while demonstrating cultural sensitivity and commitment to using local people and resources, to deliver sustainable and effective results.
Thirsty Planet will also enjoy prominent visibility at RLWC2013 events, including on match day perimeter boards, in changing rooms and at media conferences.
Rugby League World Cup 2013 General Manager Sally Bolton said: “It is pleasing to be able to strike a deal with an organisation that is determined to make a positive difference to the lives of the needy.
“And we are delighted to be able to contribute to Thirsty Planet’s great work through a donation to the excellent Pump Aid cause.
“It is also pleasing to welcome a new brand to Rugby League. We are confident Thirsty Planet will enjoy a positive experience with us, and we hope this is the start of a lasting relationship.”
Rugby League World Cup 2013 begins on Saturday, with a fantastic Opening Ceremony and explosive double header of matches under the roof at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium.
England will clash with arch-rivals Australia in arguably the sport’s biggest match, and co-hosts Wales will meet Italy, barely a week after both sides recorded impressive wins in their warm-up matches.
